This activity is one of the test subject's weekly routines. The rack is fully automated and its purpose is to restrain the test subject in a position where it doesn't pose any threat to research nor science personnel. In a substance experimentation scenario, the subject is being injected with a syringe and then observated for up to 6 hours in order to check all of the substance's effects. During this procedure, the subject's movement and physiological needs are higly restricted.
